This Week In Lights Out: Clocks, Cherries, Faces, Habits
845 people and one glucose drink, a mocktail measured properly at last, two faces at the same age, and three letters describing one mechanism.
A strange thread ran through this week without my planning it. Every issue turned out to be about timing rather than substance. The same dinner at a different hour. The same cherry in a different form. The same hours of sleep taken from a different end of the night.
Nothing below asks you to buy anything or want it more. Four cards, four levers.
THE WEEK IN FOUR CARDS
MONDAY
Rising melatonin tells your insulin to stand down, and a late plate walks straight into it.
Finish dinner four hours before bed, and on the nights you cannot, drop the starch rather than the meal.
Four issues, and not one of them was about doing more. Every single one was about doing the same thing at a different hour.
If you only do one thing: when you are lying there awake and irritated, get up and leave the room.
WEEKEND CHALLENGE
Pick one weekend night and eat dinner four hours before bed.
Change nothing else. Same food, same portion, same glass of whatever you were having. Shift only the clock, and notice how the first hour in bed feels.
